PANTHERS PLAYOFF HOPES FURTHER AWAY

Date: Jan 18, 2010

The Pickering Panthers had a disappointing weekend getting thumped in both their games and putting them further from a playoff birth.

Whitby dominated a Thursday night game that saw them defeat Pickering by a score of 7-3. Scoring for the Panthers was Nikita Mandrik, Chris Gelenscer and Khalid Alli. The Panthers then hosted the Cobourg Cougars Friday night and got beat 8-0 in a game that the Cougars dominated from start to finish.  Both games were crucial for the Panthers as they now sit 13 points away from the 8th and final playoff spot and only have 8 games remaining.

Pickering plays 3 games this upcoming weekend first when they travel to Stouffville to take on the Spirit Thursday night for their last meeting of the season. Then return home to play the Ajax Attack, puck drop is 7:30pm.  The Panthers play Saturday afternoon when they make their final trip to Peterborough to take on the Lift Lock Stars.
